People Over Politics
Joe Vaughn is not a politician, lawyer, or wealthy business owner. He is a working class citizen that knows the struggles of middle class families in Nebraska.
Joe Vaughn was born in Omaha Nebraska and raised on the ideals of hard work, commitment, dedication, and pride for his city, state and country. After graduating from the Connecticut Culinary Institute, Joe has worked in restaurants for over 15 years. Supporting not only himself and his son, Joe has taken on the responsibility of helping to raise his three nieces with his sister, who is a single mother. Currently a chef at Le Voltaire French Restaurant, Joe also works part time at Metropolitan Community College as a teaching assistant in the Culinary Arts program.
After volunteering for multiple campaigns, teamed with years of hard work, Joe grew tired of watching elected officials being bought by special interests and corporate funds. Fed up, Joe decided to be the change he wanted to see in government.
Joe is dedicated to those he is called to represent in District 18. When elected, Joe’s major focus will be to remove the influence money plays in elections and politics. Joe will also work on investing in Nebraska’s infrastructure, as well as supporting Nebraska’s teachers.
Win or lose Joe is committed to continuing the fight against the dangers presented by the construction of the KXL pipeline on local populations, business and agriculture in Nebraska.
Joe has built a career on long days and hard work. He will bring that and more to State Legislature, giving voice to those he represents.
